The production of potting soils.
Most of our products are developed, manufactured and shipped at our main site in Stein near Plößberg. With a mature, effective production chain – from sourcing and processing raw materials to packaging, logistics and shipping – we supply countless customers with high-quality products year after year.
Quality starts with the raw material.
Every soil and every substrate places different demands on its ingredients. That is why our commitment to quality begins long before production itself: with the careful selection, testing and preparation of our raw materials.
We rely on high quality standards, dependable availability, the shortest possible supply routes and the responsible use of natural resources.
We produce and refine many important substrate components ourselves – including green waste compost, bark humus and our TIMPOR® wood fibre. We preferably source other raw materials regionally; the sawmill residues for our wood fibre, for example, come from nearby sawmills. We obtain traditional raw materials through our subsidiary ZIBU Peat Industries in Latvia, among others.
We keep an eye on quality from the raw material to the finished product. Our ingredients are continuously tested and specifically matched to their intended use. This is how we lay the foundation for consistently high-quality soils and substrates.

Preparation.
Our balanced raw material policy ensures that ingredients are processed fresh and without interim storage. Our various soil and substrate products are mixed in our mixing plants according to proven formulations and prepared for packaging. Thanks to our many years of experience, our formulations have matured into products that deliver the best results in home and garden.
Mixing.
The packaging lines are fed directly from the mixing console. Modern technology guarantees consistently high quality and fast, on-time production.
Laser control.
Modern laser technology puts the formulations together precisely and ensures consistently high quality.
Bagging.
Nine fully automated bagging lines currently prepare around 350,000 Euro pallets of soils, substrates and bark products for delivery each year.
Labelling.
Every pallet is given a barcode so that each one is registered in the system with a wealth of information. This allows efficient warehousing and lets us respond flexibly to every order.
Storage & logistics
Finished products are either delivered just in time or stored on site. More than 60,000 storage spaces for finished goods are guaranteed to be available, and our warehouses can also hold up to 15,000 tonnes of fuel.
Traceability, overview, perfect warehouse management and customer-focused delivery – our logistics department takes the company’s high quality standards straight onto the road and out to our customers.
